Chromecast is an affordable streaming device that allows you to cast content from your mobile, tablet, or PC to your TV. If your Smart TV doesn’t have cast support, you can connect the Chromecast device to your TV and can cast the content right away. There are different types of Chromecast devices. Currently, only three Chromecast devices are available online. Sometimes, you may experience issues like freezing and glitching on Chromecast. This is a minor problem and can be rectified by restarting your Chromecast device. Performing a reboot improves the Chromecast device performance and solves various issues. You can easily restart your Chromecast device using the Google Home app on your smartphone.
How to Reboot Chromecast using Google Home App [Chromecast Ultra and Chromecast 3rd Generation]
#1: Connect your mobile phone or tablet to the same WiFi network as that of your Google Chromecast.
#2: On your smartphone, open the Google Home app. Make sure to configure the app with your device.
#3: Choose the Chromecast device name that you want to restart.
#4: At the top right corner of your mobile, click the Settings icon (Gear-shaped icon).
#5: Tap the three-dotted icon on the top right corner.
#6: Now, choose the Reboot option.
#7: On the confirmation screen, hit the OK button to restart your Chromecast device.
How to Restart Chromecast with Google TV
#1. Turn On your Google TV and tap the Profile image at the top-right corner.
#2. Hit the option Settings.
#3. On the Settings screen, navigate to the option System and select it.
#4. Click the option Restart to reboot your Chromecast with Google TV.
How to Manually Reboot Your Chromecast Device
This method wouldn’t require the app or any other device. You can use this method when your screen freezes or goes blank.
#1: Unplug the Chromecast from the power source. Now, the Chromecast device will be turned Off.
#2: Leave it idle for at least 1 minute.
#3: Connect the Chromecast device to the Power Source and turn it ON.
Note: Remember unplugging your Chromecast device from the HDMI port of your TV doesn’t restart the device. It just disconnects the device from the TV.
Restart is one of the best troubleshooting techniques to solve issues on your Chromecast device. If restarting the device doesn’t help you, reset the Chromecast device to fix the issues. Performing a reset will turn the device into default settings by removing all the data on your device. You can easily reset the Chromecast using the Google Home app or by pressing the button on the Chromecast. In addition, Google TV users can reset the Chromecast with Google TV in the Settings section.
